In April 2023, I was approached by Megan Reyes to create cover art for her Between Two Worlds audio documentary, which examines the Filipino-American experience in parallel with the Philippines women’s national team’s FIFA Women's World Cup debut in 2023. It connects threads of identity, history, achievement, and hope through the lens of sport.
It was very important to Megan to involve Filipino-Americans in the creation of Between Two Worlds. As a Filipino immigrant myself, this project was the first time I got to use graphic design to express my proud Filipino heritage. Through careful research, I crafted a design that combines the vibrant visuals of the Philippine islands with elements of soccer fan culture.
